World class designers confirmed for Design Means Business conference

Apr 18, 2017

An impressive line-up of leading UK and international designers are speaking at this year’s Design Means Business one day conference on Tuesday 9 May at the Northern Design Centre, Gateshead.

Inspirational keynote speakers from Lego Serious Play, Mamas and Papas, Think, BT, Portakabin and Herman Miller will reveal secrets of their national and international success and the importance of design to their businesses.

Innovative thinking is the common theme throughout the conference. Regional businesses and designers have the chance to question and learn from influential figures including Amanda Scacchetti, Mamas and Papas’ innovation director; Mark Catchlove, director of the insight group for Herman Miller; and Michel Cloosterman, international trainer for Lego Serious Play.

This is Design Network North’s most ambitious annual conference to date, and reflects the well-established reputation of the organisation, which is managed by RTC.

Demand for places is likely to be high, as in previous years, so early booking is recommended by the organisers.

Terry McStea of Design Network North said: “This is a really exciting line-up of speakers, who will be looking at the future of design, innovative thinking and how design is influencing commercial success.  It will be a fascinating, valuable conference for North East businesses to attend and participate in.”
