The Great Exhibition of the North offically launched last week and you can be part of it.
Design Network North is creating a series of activities along the Design Route that will give people an insight into the process of design, allowing people to design and create their own product, whilst learning about iconic Northern products and designs.
We want to showcase as much Northern innovation and creativity as possible, and to feature lots of products and brands from the North. So if you’d like your company, product or even brand to feature in one of our displays get in touch!
There will be lots of activities along the route which include brainstorming, idea generation, patent research, prototyping, branding etc. So if you have some resources or materials that could help people through these activities, and you’d be happy to share them with us, let us know. You’ll get full credit of course.
If you have any video clips or other resources that give a behind the scenes look at how you design or create products, we’d love to feature those on the website and along the route. And we need people on hand at each of the venues, so if you could give up a couple of hours to help out, maybe showing people how to do brainstorming, or helping them make a model, there are plenty of opportunities. Terry Mcstea, Network Manager, Design Network North said:
"We want to make this the biggest thing that’s hit the North for years, and to give everyone a chance to show off how great they are. The organisers are expecting several million visitors, so it’s a great way to raise your profile.
"So if you’d like to be involved, just reply to this telling me briefly how, and if it’s something I haven’t mentioned, then we’re open to suggestions."
