North East STEM Awards 2024

With less than 2 weeks to go until the North East STEM Awards, delivered by RTC North, the nominees have been announced!  

This prestigious event honours individuals and companies who have gone above and beyond in promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers to children and young people. From organising engaging events to offering work experience, placements, workshops, and other learning opportunities, each nominee has made a significant impact, creating life-changing experiences for the next generation. 

The STEM Awards seek to celebrate and recognise those who have shown exceptional leadership, commitment, and influence within the STEM sectors, acknowledging their vital role in inspiring the future talent of these fields. 

We are proud to announce the following individuals and companies who been shortlisted in one of the following categories  

- Largest Number of Active STEM Ambassadors from a North East SME 

- Largest Number of Active STEM Ambassadors from a Company with 250+ Employees 

- Most Inspirational Science Employer 

- Most Inspirational Technology Employer 

- Most Inspirational Engineering Employer  

- Most Inspirational Maths Employer 

- Special recognition award 

Individuals to be nominated include:

Sally Taffs: Enigma Interactive, Alexandra Brightman: Northern Gas Networks, Paula McMahon: SRM, Ian Green: Newcastle University, Mark Jackson: ImechE, Craig Smith: Nissan, Dawn Gaskins: Tekma, Diana Kenny: Red Engineering, Paulina Smith: Cummins. 

Companies to be nominated include:

Tridonic, Nissan, Osbit, Tracerco, CPI, Fujifilm, Cummins, GSK, ConocoPhillips, Venator, Jacobs, Tekmar, AECOM, Red Engineering, Atom Bank, SAGE,Virgin Money 

 While individual categories focus on specific contributions, all of the nominees share a deep commitment to STEM excellence. Being nominated is a testament to the significant impact these companies and individuals have made over the past year. We are proud to recognise their dedication and the difference they are making in shaping the future of STEM. Every nominee deserves to be celebrated for their exceptional contributions, as their work continues to inspire and push the boundaries of STEM education in the North East.

The North East STEM Awards ceremony, where these outstanding individuals and organisations will be celebrated, will take place on 25th October 2024 at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle.
