We're surely all now familiar with ChatGPT, and the various ways that AI can assist with research, and creation of documents and images......including the one above.
But what about the creation of physical products?
Is AI about to revolutionise manufacturing in the same way?
Well let's find out.
We've brought together a number of companies who are exploring how AI can be applied in their industries. Whether that's to increase efficiency, bring new levels of accuracy and reliability, or to create novel product concepts
Speakers include -
Aman Chahal, Tapered Plus
TaperedPlus is a national leader in the design and supply of flat roofing and insulation systems across multiple sectors, including health, education, and retail.
They have recently started working with AI experts at Teesside University to create Design Tools that will automate, assist and enhance the technical drawing process.
This design assist tool will examine diverse digital sources such as emails, PDFs, and Word documents and be able to extract their meaning, known as the semantic information.
This has the potential for increased efficiency in the technical drawing process, leading to a quicker extraction of essential technical details and ultimately contributing to higher turnover and net profitability. Moreover, it introduces cutting-edge technology into the workflow, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability within the company.
Aman will tell us more
Yulia Dzenkovska, Service Design North
Yulia is a marketing expert with over a decade of experience in the industry. as well as a PhD in customer experience quality. She is also a Lecturer in Marketing at Newcastle University Business School, where she teaches product and service innovation, as well as other marketing and innovation topics, including exploring Artificial Intelligence and customer experience strategies to help enhance operations and boost customer satisfaction.
She'll be talking about the use of AI tools to generate innovative product designs and improved product development workflows, understand how to apply AI insights to create products that meet evolving market needs and preferences, and prototyping AI-assisted product concepts through interactive exercises.
