RTC North Secures Cyber Essentials Plus Recertification

28th May 2026

RTC North has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus recertification, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to robust cybersecurity standards and the protection of client and organisational data.

As an employee-owned business and certified B Corp, RTC North is committed to operating responsibly and building trust with the businesses and communities it serves. Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus recertification further strengthens this commitment, ensuring that strong cybersecurity practices continue to underpin the organisation’s work across the North of England.

Cyber Essentials Plus is the highest level of certification within the UK Government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme. It requires independent, hands-on technical verification to ensure that systems are protected against common cyber threats, demonstrating a more advanced level of assurance than the standard Cyber Essentials accreditation.

The recertification reflects RTC North’s continued focus on maintaining secure systems and processes across the organisation, supporting the safe delivery of its innovation and business support services.

Michael Ball, Head of Digital, Data and ICT at RTC North, comments:

“Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus recertification is a significant milestone for RTC North and reflects the continued focus we place on protecting our systems, data, and the organisations we support. This certification requires rigorous independent assessment, giving assurance that our security measures are both robust and effective.

This accreditation provides confidence to our clients, partners and stakeholders that we take cybersecurity seriously and are committed to maintaining the highest standards. It also strengthens our internal resilience, ensuring that our systems are secure as we continue to deliver support and innovation services across the region.”

By achieving Cyber Essentials Plus recertification, RTC North demonstrates its commitment not only to compliance, but to continuously embedding strong cybersecurity practices across all areas of its operations. The certification also supports the organisation’s ongoing work with businesses, helping to build resilience and trust in an increasingly digital economy.
