STEMFest Hull 2027 Launch Event Brings Businesses Together at Connexin Live
Businesses from across Hull and East Yorkshire came together at Connexin Live on Wednesday 15 April for the STEMFest Hull 2027 Industry Engagement Event, marking the official launch of the region’s first STEMFest event and kick-starting plans to inspire the next generation of talent.
Delivered by RTC North in association with HETA and Connexin, the event brought together businesses from across the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) sectors to explore how STEMFest Hull 2027 will showcase local career pathways through interactive workshops, live demonstrations and hands-on experiences for young people.
Gary Clark, Strategic Partnership at Connexin, said:
“Great to see the recent STEM launch at Connexin Live come together so well. For us, getting involved is simple. We care about the local community and the opportunities available to young people across the region. STEM plays a big role in that. We want to help open doors, show what’s possible, and support the next generation with real exposure to technology and careers they may not have considered.”
Already established across the North, STEMFest events have inspired thousands of young people by connecting them directly with employers, bridging the gap between education and industry. The Hull and East Yorkshire event will build on this track record, creating new opportunities for local businesses to engage with schools and help strengthen the region’s long-term skills pipeline.
Iain Elliott, HETA, said:
“This was a fantastic launch event and very encouraging to see so many employers in the room. We all have to work hard to inspire the next generation to take up STEM jobs and STEMFEST is a really exciting opportunity to do this. I encourage more of our great employers to get on board.”
During the event, attendees heard more about the vision for STEMFest Hull 2027, discussed opportunities to take part through exhibiting, sponsoring and delivering activities, and shared ideas on how to make the event as impactful as possible.
Claire Willis, RTC North, said:
“We are delighted to be coming to Hull for the first time in 2027 with our STEMFest two-day event. It was amazing to see so many interested companies at our Industry Engagement event and we hope that they will support us and the young people of Hull in 2027.”
One attendee shared the following feedback:
“The event was a great way to show us more about what’s to come in 2027 and we have already reserved a spot for this.”
The event is supported by the Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, reflecting a shared commitment to empowering young people and advancing skills development across the region.
STEMFest Hull will take place from 30th June to 1st July 2027 and is now entering its next phase of planning. The STEMHub, delivered by RTC North, will work with businesses to confirm opportunities to get involved ahead of next year’s event.
