STERIS Confirmed as Environment & Energy Zone Sponsor

19th May 2026

RTC North has confirmed STERIS as the Environment and Energy Zone sponsor for STEMFest Leeds, taking place on 1–2 July at Events North, Leeds.

Organised by the Yorkshire & Humber STEM Hub and delivered by RTC North, the two-day event will welcome around 2,000 pupils aged 10–13 from across the region for hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and showcase the breadth of careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

STEMFest Leeds is made up of interactive, STEM-themed zones led by local employers, giving young people the chance to explore real-world challenges and try practical activities. Zones include Space & Travel, Technology, Environment & Energy, and Manufacturing & Engineering, each created to help pupils connect classroom learning to future opportunities and careers.

STERIS is a global provider supporting patient care and infection prevention across healthcare and life sciences worldwide. Sustainability underpins the organisation’s work to help create a healthier and safer world.

Katharine Holt (FISEP, CEnV) /Sustainability and Social Value Director, STERIS Healthcare EMEA:

“Supporting STEMFest Leeds is incredibly important to us because it gives young people the opportunity to see how science, technology, engineering and sustainability connect to real world careers and challenges, particularly in healthcare. In the Environment & Energy Zone, pupils will be able to explore hands-on activities that bring innovation and environmental responsibility to life, with a particular focus on understanding the importance of clean water and its links to health.

At STERIS, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of talent by encouraging curiosity, building confidence and showing students the exciting possibilities a career in STEM can offer.”

STERIS will be present throughout the event, with a stand and activities that will help pupils explore environmental themes within STEM and meet people working in related roles.

Dawn Ross, Liaison coordinator at the STEM Hub, commented:

“We are delighted to welcome STERIS as our Environment and Energy Zone sponsor, helping to inspire young people to explore how STEM is shaping a more sustainable future. Events like STEMFest simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity and support of local industry partners.”

With only limited sponsorship opportunities now remaining, STEMFest Leeds is still welcoming support from organisations that want to inspire the next generation and raise awareness of the region’s STEM career pathways.
