STEM Supports Children during Schools Out

19th Mar 2020

The STEM team here at RTC North has developed an innovative way of keeping children entertained to support their development in light of the school’s imminent closures across the region.

Experiment cards are available to download here that pupils can tap, from bouncing custard balls, cornflour slime, fake snow, vitamin c rockets, lollipop harmonicas and so much more! Claire Willis, Education Relationship Manager at RTC North, said:

"These are challenging times ahead and we want to support schools and pupils in a range of fun and educational activities that can be done at home with parents. We can’t wait to see the competition entries and our aim is to not only provide some light relief and entertainment but also educate that STEM related activities are fun!”

To really get the younger generation embracing STEM activities they have launched a competition, where students can email their favourite STEM experiment, with the winning entries uploaded to social media. There are also prizes for winning entries and a free hands-on STEM session up for grabs to the school with the overall winning entry.  For more information check STEM social accounts or email Claire.Willis@RTCNorth.co.uk.

RTC North runs the STEM Ambassador Hub for the North East.
