First Sponsor confirmed for the North East STEM Awards

Worley

05th Jul 2021

The North East STEM Hub is delighted to announce Worley as the first sponsor of its North East STEM Awards. Every day Worley helps its customers in the energy, chemicals and resources sectors get one step closer to delivering a more sustainable world. And it is committed to finding and supporting the workforce of the future through STEM activities.

The ceremony will take place virtually on Thursday 15 July and will be hosted by TV celebrity and author Dallas Campbell. This is the first time that an awards ceremony has been dedicated to companies going out of their way to deliver STEM activities to young people and their teachers in our region. Despite the global pandemic, many companies and individuals have adapted and developed innovative ways of delivering exciting activities to young people and their teachers.

Claire Willis, STEM Business Development Manager, said:

“The awards are all about celebrating and recognising STEM Ambassadors and STEM organisations who, through their interaction, have made a real difference to the lives of North East young people and their teachers. We are delighted that Worley are one of our sponsors and we look forward to working with them in the weeks leading up to the event.”

Bradley Andrews, President at Worley, said:

"This event celebrates STEM businesses and individuals who are as passionate about supporting the next generation as we are. We have 48,000 of the world’s brightest scientists, technologists, engineers and data scientists all working to solve the planet’s toughest challenges. It’s our hope that by working through organisations like the North East STEM hub, we can engage and inspire the workforce of the future who will drive our purpose of delivering a more sustainable world.”
