Established in 2008, Design Network North is an active network of people who are passionate about design and the impact it can make.
From manufacturers, product designers and full service marketing agencies to professional services companies and businesses in the service sector, customer focused design thinking can transform a business and its products.
We hold a monthly themed event, Rise and Design , which brings together 60-80 companies to hear from expert speakers and to network with potential clients.
Recent topics have included Design in the Oil and Gas Sector, Applications of Virtual Reality, User Interface Design, Branding and Desktop Manufacturing. They’re open to all and a great way to find out more about design and how the network could help you.
Our ‘Boomerang’ service is a way to get answers to those difficult questions you can’t Google, or to get recommendations for suppliers or other partners. Simply throw a question out, and within minutes there’s be responses from someone in our network who knows what you’re looking for.
We can help you with a wide range of design related issues such as reviewing your product range, audits of your internal design process, helping you understand your customers and what they want from you, exploring new markets and identifying new services or ways of doing business.
We have funding, through the Designing Better Business programme that can help you find and work with a consultant on a range of issues from sales and marketing to health and safety. Our ‘exemplar’ programme can make up to a 40% contribution to the cost of a product design project. Since 2009, Design Network North has funded 80 projects that have helped clients.
We are very well connected in the design and manufacturing community in the North East so if you're looking for someone to design or make something we can usually introduce you to the right person.
Membership depends on size of company and starts at only £90 per year.
